EKO METHOD | Helping children, especially those with learning disabilities, learn a second language

Connect to Childhood, Teach a Language

Teaching a language through imagination and play, engaging in mutual activity, allowing learners to express their inner worlds while learning to speak a second language, using children’s developmental stages to enhance effective outcomes.  These and more are at the heart of Eko Method.

In this top-down approach, we try to emulate a natural process of language acquisition (such as the one of a mother tongue) by creating a play and child centered environment. The child learns through experience and engagement in games, the arts and more.

« Highly recommended! Taking the EKO METHOD course for tutors gave me a great set of tools to approach my students and encourage them to speak in English and French (I teach both). The course itself is pretty straightforward and the tools given are simple, fun and easy to implement. »

« Well constructed course. Totally different from anything I studied before. The course was offered by a language tutoring company I work for. I really didn't expect much but it turned out to be a very positive and dynamic addition to my curriculum. Recommended! »

Matt, Cambridge, Ontario

« My international students started chatting in English as fast as the 4th lesson. It works! »

«Gallia , thank you so much for this fascinating journey of a course. I mostly love the concept of students` interests and lives turned into a curriculum. »
